Vicki’s task as Artist in Residence is to create a series of artworks that celebrate Cornwall’s maritime heritage. Through her paintings, she aims to capture the beauty of the sea and the enduring spirit of those who have sailed its waters throughout history.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Vicki will also engage with the local community, hosting workshops and talks to share her passion for art and maritime history.

Vicki Norman is known for her stunning landscape and maritime paintings that capture the essence of the sea and coastal landscapes. With a deep passion for the ocean and maritime heritage, Vicki’s work has been exhibited across the world.

“One of the best parts of being a trust member is the opportunity to explore West Cornwall from the sea.

The net loft studio at our home in Gwavas House was used by the Newlyn School painters as they documented the lives of fishing families back in the 1880’s. Using it to record the work of the Cornish Maritime Trust as they maintain the old fishing boats from that same era seems particularly fitting. “
